# Deploy dry runs and a memory guard for apps

Week ending October 29, 2026.

- **API.** `POST /v1/deployments/dry-run` previews a deploy without making it: whether anything changed, which server it lands on and why, and any quota refusal.
- **Runtime.** Apps run under a memory cap inside their VM, so an app that outgrows it is restarted without freezing the apps beside it, and the failure suggests a server of its own.
- **Static sites.** Static sites send content ETags and cache hashed assets for a year. A static publish that fails says who must act and how.
- **Deploy.** An upload that breaks ends at once, so rerunning the deploy starts fresh instead of waiting.
