# How to make a website with Claude and publish it (2026)

Make a website in any Claude app (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Cowork, Claude Code or the phone app) and let Claude publish it with the Ample Computer connector: a live link in about a minute, no GitHub, no hosting plan, no card.

## The short version

To make a website with Claude, describe the site you want in any Claude app and let Claude build it. To publish it, add the Ample Computer connector (`https://api.ample.computer/mcp`) once and say "Publish this with Ample Computer." Claude puts the site online itself and gives you a live HTTPS link in about a minute. You don't need GitHub, a hosting plan or a card, contact forms and databases work, and you keep the site by claiming it with your email.

Claude can build a website from a description, and with a deploy connector it can also put that website on the internet itself. This guide covers both halves, for every Claude app, checked on October 27, 2026.

## 1. Make the website

Any Claude app can build the site. Describe it the way you would to a designer:

> Build a one-page website for my coffee roasting business in Austin. Warm, minimal design, a menu section, opening hours and a contact form. Use my logo and colours from the attached files.

- **claude.ai, Claude Desktop or the phone app:** Claude builds the page as an artifact you can preview next to the chat. Ask for changes in plain words ("make the header sticky") until it looks right.
- **Claude Code** (the Code tab in Claude Desktop, or the terminal): Claude writes the files into a folder on your computer and can run a local preview. Use it for sites with several pages or a framework such as Astro or Next.js.
- **Cowork:** Claude works in a folder you choose, like Claude Code, without a terminal.

## 2. Add the Ample Computer connector (once)

On claude.ai or in Claude Desktop:

1. Open **Customize > Connectors**, click **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
2. Name it **Ample Computer** and paste `https://api.ample.computer/mcp`.
3. Click **Connect** and sign in with your email. Ample Computer emails you a 6-digit code: no password and no card.

On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it under **Organization settings > Connectors** first. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; the Free plan allows one ([Anthropic's connector guide](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp)). A connector you add on claude.ai is also there in Claude Desktop, Cowork and the Claude phone app.

## 3. Ask Claude to publish it

Say:

> Publish this with Ample Computer.

Claude sends the site to Ample Computer and answers with a link such as `https://k3v9x2m7q4tb.ample.run`. It is live on HTTPS for anyone, straight away. To change the site later, ask Claude for the change and say "publish it again": the same link updates.

What happens in each app:

| Where you made it | What to say | What Claude does |
|---|---|---|
| claude.ai, Claude Desktop (an artifact) | "Publish this artifact with Ample Computer." | Sends the artifact's page and returns the live link |
| Claude phone app | "Publish this with Ample Computer." | The same, from your phone, once the connector is added |
| Cowork (a folder) | "Publish this folder with Ample Computer." | Sends the folder, builds it if it needs building, returns the link |
| Claude Code (a folder) | "Install Ample Computer and publish this folder." | Installs the Ample Computer CLI, signs itself up (no email, browser or card), publishes, and returns the link plus a claim link |

Claude Code can use the connector too: `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user ample https://api.ample.computer/mcp`, then `/mcp` in a session to sign in. See [Claude Code + Ample Computer](https://ample.computer/agents/claude-code).

## Can Claude put a website online by itself?

Yes. Without a connector, Claude can only hand you files to upload somewhere, or share an artifact on Claude's own link. With a deploy connector such as Ample Computer, Claude publishes the site itself and gives you the address. You don't have to download anything, make a GitHub repository or open a hosting dashboard.

## If your site needs a contact form, a login or a database

Most ways of publishing a Claude website only host static pages, so a form has nowhere to send its messages. Ample Computer runs the whole app. Ask Claude:

> Make the contact form save messages to a database and add a page where I can read them, then publish it with Ample Computer.

Claude writes a small backend, and Ample Computer creates the database the app needs and connects it, with nothing for you to set up. The same goes for sign-ups, bookings, dashboards and small online tools.

## Keep the site, name it, and use your own domain

- **Keep it.** If you signed in when you added the connector, the site is already yours. A site that Claude published before anyone signed in shows a "Claim this app" card on its page: enter your email and the 6-digit code to keep it. Unclaimed sites are deleted after 48 hours.
- **Name it.** After claiming, give the site a readable address on ample.run (for example `my-coffee.ample.run`) from your profile.
- **Your own domain.** Say "Use my domain example.com for this site." Claude adds it and tells you the DNS record to create at your domain registrar. HTTPS is set up automatically.
- **Hand it to a client.** Publish it from Claude Code before signing in, send your client the link, and let them claim it with their own email so it lands in their account.

## Ways to publish a website made with Claude, compared

| Option | Accounts you need | Backend (forms, database) | Your own domain | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ample Computer connector | An email sign-in, or none from Claude Code until you claim | Yes | Yes | Free plan; [paid plans](https://ample.computer/pricing) from $5/month |
| [Claude's Publish button](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/9547008-publishing-remixing-and-sharing-artifacts) | Your Claude account | No (one page) | No | Included in Free, Pro and Max |
| [Netlify connector](https://docs.netlify.com/build/build-with-ai/agent-setup-guides/set-up-claude-design-for-netlify/) | A Netlify account | No: Netlify's Claude guide deploys static sites | Yes | Netlify free plan |
| GitHub + Cloudflare Pages | GitHub and Cloudflare | Limited (Pages Functions) | Yes | Free |
| [Cloudflare temporary deploy](https://developers.cloudflare.com/changelog/post/2026-06-19-temporary-accounts-for-agents/) | None at first; a Cloudflare account to keep it | Workers code | After claiming | Free; the site lasts 60 minutes unless claimed |
| [Hostinger](https://www.hostinger.com/web-apps-hosting/claude-code-hosting) | A Hostinger plan | Node.js | Yes | From $3.49/month, billed upfront for 48 months |

Where the others are the better choice: Claude's own Publish button needs no setup at all if a Claude-branded link is fine. Netlify and Cloudflare Pages are mature, free hosts for static sites, and the GitHub route keeps a history of every change.

## Questions

**Do I need Claude Pro?** No. Custom connectors, Ample Computer included, work on Claude's Free plan, which allows one custom connector.

**Is publishing free?** Yes, on Ample Computer's Free plan: up to two apps running at once, databases included, no card on file, and a hard $5 monthly usage cap. See [pricing](https://ample.computer/pricing).

**Do I need GitHub?** No. Claude sends the site straight to Ample Computer. You can still keep the code in GitHub if you want a history.

**Can I update the site later?** Yes. Ask Claude for the change in the same chat or folder and say "publish it again". The link stays the same.

**What if publishing fails?** Ample Computer tells Claude what went wrong (a missing file, a build error) and what to change, so Claude can usually fix it and publish again without you doing anything.
